Clark's Nutcrackers and Pinyon Jays 11/4/10

Male pinyon jay December 2010. Taken in my Santa Fe County yard

This is my first post in a while - a long while. I have moved from Florida to New Mexico, arriving here in Santa Fe on September 28th. My wife Carol and I live in El Dorado, not the City of Gold, but rather a very birdie subdivision about 10 miles east of the city. I work at Pecos National Historical Park and am a park ranger there. The birding is spectacular and has prompted me to put the paddles to this blog and bring it back to life.

I'll start by saying that currently Pecos NHP (about 20 miles east of Santa Fe) has large flocks of roaming Pinyon Jays and Clark's Nutcrackers.

Well a weak start, but more coming.
